In 2016, we undertook a review of our schools catering provision which resulted in us moving to an external catering contractor; Chartwells. We are very proud of the service and standard provided by Chartwells and we have received positive feedback from students, parents and visitors to the school on our catering provision.
A wide range of food is on offer at both morning break and lunch time. We also have plans to launch a breakfast club soon which will provide catering from 8am each morning.
Menu’s change weekly and through frequent meetings with students, they reflect the food and meals that are both suitable and healthy. Chartwells also work with our students to promote healthy lifestyles and run themed days throughout the year.
We operate a cashless catering system here at Howden School. Parents/carers are able to upload funds via the ParentPay website and these are allocated to their child’s account. The majority of students use their biometric fingerprint to purchase items from their account, but for those who opt out of this are provided with a number pin to enter at the tills. ParentPay details for parents/carers are sent out from the school to the resident parent, if you require these to be resent or have not received them, then please contact the Finance office.
