Virtual Sports Day 2020

Howden School Virtual Sports Day 2020 - Friday 10th July 8am-2pm

Rules of Activities:


Event 1: Step Up Challenge

  • Find a step; staircase, outside, kerb
  • Step up onto step and step back down again (count as one)
  • Continue this for 1 minute





Event 2: 10m sprint challenge

  • Measure a distance of 10m and mark this out
  • Time yourself running this distance


Event 3: Standing Long Jump

  • Start on 2 feet – no run up
  • Jump as far as you can
  • Measure the distance from where you started to where you landed
  • Make sure you only measure to the closest part of your body to the start line



Event 4: Sit Up Challenge

  • Lie down on your back, keep your knees bent and your back and feet flat on the floor.
  • Try to see how many times you can sit up so that your chest touches your legs (or as close as possible)
  • Your hands must either be crossed or at the side of your head
  • Repeat this for 1 minute and count how many you can do


Event 5: Skipping Challenge

  • Get a skipping rope
  • Count how many jumps you can do in 1 minute






Event 6: Tea bag throwing

  • Place a mug 2m away from where you are standing
  • Attempt to throw a tea bag into the mug
  • Count how many attempts it takes you to land the tea bag into the mug


Event 7: Sock Kick Ups

  • Roll a pair of socks up into a ball
  • Use either foot to keep the socks in the air and keep count of how many keep ups you perform
  • If socks hit the floor, pick it up an carry on
  • Stop when you reach one minute


Event 8: 2km Challenge

  • Run, jog, walk 2km (1.2 miles)
  • Time how long this takes you




Don’t forget to film/photograph yourself participating.

Then send in your times/distances for each event to try to make the leader board.
