    Enrichment

Students across all key stages at Howden take part in a wide range of extracurricular activities. Our enrichment offer is continually reviewed and developed to respond to the evolving interests, needs and aspirations of our students.

We are committed to ensuring that all students have access to opportunities that extend beyond the classroom, helping them to develop new skills, build confidence and broaden their experiences.

    Current Enrichment Opportunities

Our offer includes a diverse range of clubs and activities. For example:

    • Creative Arts – Textiles, Art, Drama, Choir, and Chinese Choir

    • Sport and Physical Activity – Football, Netball, Cricket, Rugby, Rounders, Athletics

    • Academic Support and Extension – Homework Club, Library sessions

    • Personal Development – Duke of Edinburgh Award (Year 9), Pastoral support sessions

This range ensures that students can engage in activities that complement their academic studies while also discovering new interests and passions.

    A Developing and Inclusive Programme

At Howden, enrichment is an essential part of our curriculum. We:

    • Regularly introduce new clubs and activities.

    • Encourage student voice in shaping the offer.

    • Provide opportunities for participation, leadership and teamwork.

Students are supported to get involved and, where appropriate, take ownership of activities, helping to build independence and confidence.
