Our pastoral system is carefully designed so that every young person feels supported, safe and ready to succeed.
Each day begins with an ACE (Aspiration, Courtesy, Excellence) tutor period. These daily sessions give students a consistent point of contact with their tutor, helping them to feel connected, supported and guided in living out our core values. Tutors play a key role in monitoring progress, encouraging positive attitudes and fostering a strong sense of belonging within the school community.
Our Heads of Year are none-teaching members of staff, fully dedicated to pastoral care. This ensures they are available throughout the day to provide guidance, celebrate achievements and respond quickly to challenges. They work closely with students, families and staff to make sure every child has the support they need to thrive.
Our Year Teams form the basis of our Pastoral Team. Each child is part of a Form Group within their year group. Students spend ACE Time with their ACE Tutor each day; they can also go to them for support or guidance.

Our ACE Tutors are at the heart of each student's daily experience, providing a consistent and supportive start to every day. They know their students well, ensuring they are ready to learn, celebrate success and set up meaningful challenges. As teachers, they model high expectations and help every student develop positive habits and a strong sense of belonging. |
Our Heads of Year are dedicated pastoral leaders who champion the well-being, behaviour and attendance of every student. As key members of the support staff, they are the main point of contact for students, parents and carers, providing guidance, support and consistency. They ensure that every student feels known, supported and able to succeed. |
Our Deputy Progress Lead plays a key role within the pastoral team, leading and supporting Heads of Year to deliver consistent, high-quality care. Working collaboratively, they ensure strong systems are in place to promote excellent behaviour, attendance and personal development, enabling all students to thrive. |
Our Academic Progress Lead drives high standards of teaching, learning and achievement across the school. Working closely with the pastoral team, they use their knowledge of each student, alongside assessment and curriculum insight, to ensure all are supported to make strong progress. They champion a culture of ambition and resilience, helping students take pride in their learning. |
