Update - 22-05-2020

"As you know, our academies have been open throughout the period of lockdown for the children and young people of key workers as well as vulnerable groups. This provision has been well received and effective measures have been taken in every school to minimise risk to learners and staff in terms of their safety and well-being. In addition, over the last month senior leaders in the Trust have been working with Headteachers and their teams to plan for the wider opening of schools as announced by the Government..."

Update - 11-05-2020

You will have heard the Prime Minister indicating that the Government believes that it may be in a position to implement a phased re-opening of schools from 1 June, starting with pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6...."

Update - 01-05-2020

"I hope this email finds you and your families well. We are 42 days (if you count Easter) into what is a long haul situation. I think we are well into the adjustment phase, at present, where we settle into the groove of things. How long this lasts before we move into the recovery phase is, as yet, unknown. Update - 24-04-2020

Letter to all parents and students:

"I hope this letter finds you and your families well. I am guessing that, for you all, it has been an Easter Holiday like no other. Many of our school staff have continued to work hard throughout the Easter Holiday period to keep the school open for the students that need it. Students, staff, parents and carers are also likely to have found it hard to fully switch off in these times of lost routines and swirling speculation with just one story filling our waking (and dreaming) hours..."

Update - 09-04-2020

Letter to Year 11:

"On 18 March 2020, the Secretary of State for Education announced1 that the summer 2020 GCSE, AS and A level exam series would be cancelled in order to help fight the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and that students due to sit the exams would be awarded a grade based on an assessment of the grade they would have been most likely to achieve had exams gone ahead. On 23 March, in a written statement to Parliament2, the Secretary of State explained the government’s intention that results would be issued to this year’s cohort based on a range of evidence and data, including performance on mock exams and non-exam assessment..."

UPDATE - 07-04-2020

Letter to Year 11:

"I understand how unsettling the past weeks have been for you, since the announcement that exams have been cancelled this summer, and that you are urgently waiting for news. I wanted to let you know what we are doing to provide you with grades. Our over-riding aim in this is to be fair to students this summer and to make sure you are not disadvantaged in your progress to sixth form, college, university, apprenticeships, training or work because of these unprecedented conditions..."

UPDATE - 02-04-2020

Letter to FSM Parents:

"I am pleased to inform you that from week commencing Monday 20th April 2020, we will be
moving to the new Government coordinated FSM voucher scheme which will be provided by
Edenred. I am sure you will already have seen and heard about this in the daily media
information. This will provide you with a weekly supermarket voucher of £15.00 per eligible
child, during the Academy term time. The Edenred system works in a similar way to the
current e-voucher provider Wonde..."

We understand that this is a very difficult time for students and parents. The teaching staff and I are also disappointed that the examination series will not continue as usual following all the hard work of students and staff..."

"On Friday 20 March, we will remain open for Year 7 students but we have made the difficult decision to close for all Year 11 students. We have made this decision based on our ability to safely cover lessons and with consideration of our current Year 11 cohort...."

At the moment, indications are that these include the following: NHS staff, including ambulance / paramedic, Police, Fire Service, Teachers, Food Delivery Drivers. If you work in any of these key areas and you are the primary carer for your child, please can you let us know as soon as possible following this link here https://bit.ly/2x7Vf1L . Once we receive your response, a member of the academy team will ring you to establish further details. In addition, if the government adds other professions and job roles to their published Key Worker list, we will contact you again."
